Every Monday here at Invincible Marvel, we do a character spotlight on a character in the Marvel Comics Universe, giving you a brief history and recommended reading about this character. This week, our character is (my favorite) Spider-Man!

Peter Parker was a regular teenager living in New York. Until, he was bitten by a radioactive spider and received amazing powers! Peter used these powers for granted, until his Uncle Ben was killed by a crook Peter could have stopped. It was here that he realized that with great power there must also come great responsibility. Peter then became the amazing Spider-Man!

Peter made many friends and enemies over the years. He was temporarily a member of the Fantastic Four, and a member of the Avengers numerous times. One of his major enemies is the Green Goblin, aka Norman Osborn. Norman’s defining act of villainy was when he killed Peter’s girlfriend, Gwen Stacy! It was here that Norman went from being a villain of Spider-Man to being a villain of the whole marvel universe. Some other enemies of his are Doctor Octopus and Venom.

Currently, Peter is 28 and the head of his own company, Parker Industries. He has become a billionaire, but still uses his position of power for good use. Peter also mentors a young Spider-Man known as Miles Morales, a 13 year old Spider-Man from an alternate universe currently residing in the main Marvel Universe.
