Power Man and Iron Fist (2016) #1

Official Synopsis: THE ORIGINAL HEROES FOR HIRE, BACK ON THE CLOCK! We KNOW you’ve been waiting to see LUKE CAGE and DANNY RAND back together and back to STREET-STOMPING basics! POWER MAN and IRON FIST are tracking a mystery with all the ingredients of a classic Heroes-for-Hire tale. Expect old friends, hired goons, crime lords, weird magic, plenty of power, a flurry of fists and as much bromance as you can handle! It’s Power Man and Iron Fist reunited, and writer DAVID WALKER and artist SANFORD GREENE are making it feel so GOOD!

Why You Should Buy This: It’s been over a decade since Luke Cage and Iron Fist have shared a team-up series. With both getting their own Netflix series in the future, it’s going to be interesting to see what spin Marvel will put on this series starring Marvel’s (arguably) most popular superhero friendship. This book is a must read.

Avengers Standoff: Welcome to Pleasant Hill #1

Official Synopsis: The prelude to the Spring’s blockbuster AVENGERS event! Hello there and welcome, new resident. You’ve sure made the right choice in moving to Pleasant Hill– a friendly small town where burdens are lifted and the sun is always bright… so hide your eyes. Don’t let it see you looking its way. Hide if you must. Otherwise it will burn right through you. Pleasant Hill is the kind of place where folks look out for one another. Everyone knows who their neighbors are. But who are you, neighbor? Written by Nick Spencer, art by Mark Bagley.

Why You Should Buy This: This book is the set up for Marvel’s Avengers event this spring. Running through all Avengers book, you should read this one in order to know what’s going on in your favorite series.

Spider-Woman (2015) #4

Official Synopsis: Trapped in an alien hospital with a bunch of pregnant extraterrestrials, Jess has no choice but to stick it to the Skrulls. Written by Dennis Hopeless, art by Javier Rodriguez.

Why You Should Buy This: Spider-Woman has been one of my favorite All-New All-Different series ever since the first issue. The series just gets better every month, so I see no reason why this one shouldn’t be the best one yet.

Mighty Thor #4

Mighty Thor (2015) #4

Official Synopsis: The path of the All-Mother and Asgard is torn apart by civil war, with Thor caught in the middle. Plus…the wedding of Malekith? Written by Jason Aaron, art by Russell Dauterman.

Why You Should Buy This: The Mighty Thor continues to impress every month, showing us that no hero is invincible (even Iron Man (haha Marvel puns)). From her ongoing battle with cancer, to the conflict between the 9 realms, this book is a must read.
