While speaking to James Corden on The Late Late Show, Sharon Stone revealed that she has a role in an upcoming Marvel movie.

“I am going to do a Marvel movie. I’m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can’t tell, because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements. But I’m going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now. That’s it.”

It’s unlikely that Marvel would cast Sharon Stone in a “wee” part, seeing how she is such a big actress. However, it is entirely possible that she meant “wee” literally. One prevailing theory on the internet is that Sharon Stone will be playing Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp. Her return has been highly rumored, and if you were paying attention during Ant-Man you can see a figure while Scott is shrinking down to the quantum zone, rumored by many to be Janet.

If Sharon were to appear in a small part, it’s entirely possible that her role could have a small part in one movie, then a large part in another. A prime example of this type of character is Everett Ross from Captain America: Civil War, who only appeared for less than 10 minutes in Captain America: Civil War but will go on to have a larger part in Black Panther.

If the role is truly a small part, however, it’s more likely that the film is closer down the release slate. Maybe a role as an alien species in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, or Thor: Ragnarok, perhaps? Or maybe she’s one of Peter’s teachers in Spider-Man: Homecoming?

Either way, I hope Marvel will continue their streak of near-perfect casting and cast her in the right part. Welcome to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sharon Stone.
